The Countryside Alliance Awards – now in their 17th year – recognise rural businesses across five categories, including ‘best local food’, ‘best butcher’, ‘best pub’, ‘best rural enterprise’, and ‘best village shop/post office’. These businesses go the extra mile within their communities, supporting the local economy and championing local goods and services.

The Black Pig was awarded 'Best Regional Butcher' in their 2024 Rural Oscars. The award celebrated the special and ongoing relationship in practice where Kent farmers, our local small abattoir and The Black Pig together supply the community with meat. It recognised the traditional animal husbandry practises being preserved, the emphasis on animal welfare and the unique offerings in the counter that creatively combine rare breed and free-range meat with local and foraged ingredients.
